What I do
I design commercially viable products informed by experience of product design, delivered on a firm base of Brand awareness, UX, Mechanics, HW and SW platforms, RF design, supply chain strategy, wireless coms ecosystems, I.O.T. and financial awareness.
As Director of Product development, Head of Concept Creation and Design In a range of industries ranging from Luxury to Augmented reality I have driven innovation and solved problems for 30 years. I am named on over 20 patents.
How I do it
Based on my experience I have developed a holistic design process covering many factors from who your customer actually is to semiotics and enabling technologies.
My approach is applicable across all types of product and scalable to any type of business, as certain truths are universal.
The point is not to proceed directly to designing the product, first take stock of who the customer is and their needs. Then take time to check your product proposition before wasting a lot of time and money making the wrong product.
Product creation should be informed not only by the influencing factors inside a company like strategy and technology, but also by external factors such as global trends and ecosystems.
I am used to working with experts from many fields and nationalities. I have knowledge of most manufacturing industries and know experts in diverse areas from global type approval and far eastern ODM manufacturers to Jewellers in Bangkok and antenna engineers in Sweden.
